Sunday, April 29, 2007 ( 11:31 PM ) shut up christine the year i took AP stats i think my teacher got really sick or broke her legs or something so she was gone half the year and i feel bad for our subs, we were really bad kids, we never listened we ran amuck and there was this senior in that class named David Yoon i can't exactly remember the things he said but i remember laughing soooo much, he was so funny and one time he was doing this weird dance, i can't explain it you had to be there but i crack up every time i think about it David Yoon c/o 2000 from Whitney High, you don't know who I am but I hope you google your name and find this so that you know, seven years later you are still making me laugh # Saturday, April 28, 2007 ( 12:26 AM ) shut up christine let's say you haven't eaten in 41 hours, you're pretty freakin hungry and someone comes up to you with a big honking plate of your most favorite food in the whole entire world. Person says "This is THEE BEST DAMN _____ you will ever eat in your entire life," and sets the plate right in front of your face. but there's a catch..... if you eat this food, you will have painful explosive diarrhea; you will probably develop some kind of skin disease like open sores; and you will sweat so profusely that salt crystals will form in your hair. The aromas wafting from the plate reach your nostrils and you know you will remember this glorious taste in your mouth for the rest of your life. do you still eat it, knowing that it will hurt? or do you settle for a mediocre meal? what if there were no side effects. would it have tasted the same? seems like things that are worthwhile are often painful or are they more worthwhile because they're painful? yes # Wednesday, April 25, 2007 ( 6:19 PM ) shut up christine 5,609 people have signed up for the Los Angeles displacement camp wow that is all # Sunday, April 22, 2007 ( 9:40 PM ) shut up christine ps i think this will be a powerful experience... - 15 camps throughout the US - 3pm Saturday April 28 until 10am Sunday April 29 Everyone who comes to “Displace Me” will be asked to bring the following: 1. Enough cardboard to build something the size of a small tent. 2. A sleeping bag. 3. A 1.5-liter bottle of water (with airtight seal-to be collected upon entry). 4. A box of saltine crackers (yes, they need to be saltines, with sealed packaging- to be collected upon entry). 5. A current photo of yourself wearing a white t-shirt with a red X. When Hurricane Katrina hit this country, we saw for the first time what a displaced American looks like. Now we’re asking you to voluntarily become displaced, leaving the comforts of your homes, to imagine for 24 hours what it’s like for the millions of people in Northern Uganda who have been displaced for more than ten years. The overnight event will begin at 3 p.m. local time in each of the 15 designated cities. Entry is free. The intent of the night is to encourage genuine compassion in the hearts of the participants towards the 1.5 million displaced and to positively impact US foreign policy in relation to Northern Uganda's peace process. To experience this event at its full potential, you will be asked to give up your food and water upon entry. Both will be redistributed later in the evening. Displace Me's simulation aspects, such as the redistribution of food, exist to enhance the overall event experience, as well as your understanding of what life is like for those living in the IDP camps. We encourage you not to bring tents or other food besides the Saltine crackers and water bottles if possible. During the evening you will hear the testimonials of some of those living in the camps, as well as other speakers chosen specifically for their personal connection to Northern Uganda. You will be asked to write letters to your senators and policy makers to encourage American involvement in ending the war and sending the people in the camps home. Displace Me will end the morning of Sunday, April 29th at 10 a.m. Sign up online and join us on April 28th as we leave our homes to bring them home. .....4,500 people (wow) have already signed up for the Los Angeles camp... come with? haven't decided if i'm going yet # ( 3:54 PM ) shut up christine a very sad story Girl has mustache. Before starting work with a team and with the help of the country group, each volunteer needs to seriously consider a series of personal and emotional questions. This process of raising self-awareness and openly acknowledging one's strengths and weaknesses, is crucial preparation for the effective management of stressful situations volunteers will almost certainly encounter. Without this awareness it can be difficult to address issues that may arise during a period on the team and this can be harmful both to the individual volunteer and the team as a whole. The following areas should be considered: - personal limitations, fears, and prejudices - motives for and expectations of volunteering with * - the role which * and the individual volunteer plays in the conflict - your own political convictions - your views on being non-partisan, especially given that many * volunteers come from very politically active backgrounds in their own country - the possibility of your own death - the possibility of torture this shit scares me. this is why i hesitate, this is why i don't know what the hell i'm doing, and if i decide to go back to school for this, am i even emotionally hardy enough to do this kind of work? i am not jack bauer props to the people strong enough to turn in this application # Friday, April 13, 2007 ( 10:14 PM ) shut up christine house is being remodeled, parents don't want the fish tank anymore, and no one will take care of them when i leave le sigh i'm looking for a loving person to adopt my three african dwarf froglets they're tiny (when they stretch out they're about as long as a thumb) and completely aquatic you can have the entire tank including filter, fake plants, gravel, fake log for them to play in, and froggie food please take good care of them # Thursday, April 12, 2007 ( 10:05 PM ) shut up christine shameless plug for the homies :) SAVE YOUR PLANET ECO-FEST!
