She encouraged us to assemble a personal Board of Directors. That is, a Board of Directors for You. A steering committee that knows you and what you stand for and have your best interests in mind, to guide the enterprise that is your life. This is such good advice for young law students. Especially idealistic young law students. Remember who you are and don't get sucked into this materialistic and twisted lifestyle. As we are presented with morally questionable choices or "obligations" in our careers I hope my friends and I will keep each other grounded. Then she went on to say how I was her first Director, way back in high school, and I am literally bawling as I type this, because I can say the same for her. wahh i'm so emo where are my tissues Linda, I know you will accomplish amazing things in this lifetime, and I hope I am there to see them :) # Thursday, January 11, 2007 ( 1:02 AM ) shut up christine long lost central america pictures courtesy of Lo :) jungle air conditioning (ie fan) little fish big fish! centerfold pic bushmaster taught us how to suck wood for survival coolest treehouse in the world sexy wedgie hahaha MONEY SHOT!! Belizean sunset # Monday, January 08, 2007 ( 8:15 PM ) shut up christine I've mentioned this before but I think it's worth mentioning again... if you ever have a free Saturday night, you should come by the Seva Cafe at the Royal Cup Coffee Shop, 994 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90804 hours are 5-10pm every Saturday The reason why this place is so special is because there are no prices on the menu - your food has been paid for by someone else. The only focus is to serve you with love, and all the workers are volunteers. There's no expectation for you to leave money behind but we give you the opportunity to pay for another guest's meal, if you choose to. Again, technically the food isn't free, because at the end of the night someone has to pay for it. Any profits go to an organization that takes care of 6,000 slum children in India, and even if there aren't any profits (haven't been for a few months), the Cafe still sends money. (awesomeness) Ideally, they would love to keep the cafe going for as long as possible, but currently they are running on reserves. I think they will be open for a couple more months before the funds run out, so you should stop by while you still can! You can volunteer as well, they could always use extra hands (tell them in advance) I'm there almost every Saturday, I hope you can come # Tuesday, January 02, 2007 ( 2:07 PM ) shut up christine On new year's eve I went to my neighbor's house, which I have done every year since I can remember. My sis had been drinking, so my other neighbor from across the street, Mr. C, told her that if she was too drunk to get home, she could call him and he'd drive us to our house, which is literally next door. I thought it was funny. I guess you had to be there. Anywho, every year for the past TWENTY years, my sister and I run back to our house at 11:55pm to wake up our dad for the countdown. I used to grumble about not being able to spend new year's eve in Vegas or LA with my friends, but the year I don't have to run back to my house will probably be a bad year. And I don't know about your family, but my family has all these New Year's Eve rituals/superstitions, like at the stroke of 12 we jump up and down while stuffing twelve grapes into our mouths (for 12 wishes), we open the kitchen cabinets, fill our pockets with coins, and wear polka dots. I used to think it was a filipino thing, but maybe my family is just crazy. Happy 2007! # |
