( 2:07 PM ) shut up christine
On new year's eve I went to my neighbor's house, which I have done every year since I can remember. My sis had been drinking, so my other neighbor from across the street, Mr. C, told her that if she was too drunk to get home, she could call him and he'd drive us to our house, which is literally next door. I thought it was funny. I guess you had to be there.
Anywho, every year for the past TWENTY years, my sister and I run back to our house at 11:55pm to wake up our dad for the countdown. I used to grumble about not being able to spend new year's eve in Vegas or LA with my friends, but the year I don't have to run back to my house will probably be a bad year.
And I don't know about your family, but my family has all these New Year's Eve rituals/superstitions, like at the stroke of 12 we jump up and down while stuffing twelve grapes into our mouths (for 12 wishes), we open the kitchen cabinets, fill our pockets with coins, and wear polka dots. I used to think it was a filipino thing, but maybe my family is just crazy.
Happy 2007!
