Tuesday, April 02, 2002 ( 6:37 AM ) shut up christine It’s a bit early to be writing about stuff like this, but there are only two and a half months of school left. Only two and a half. I’m going to make the best of these 11 weeks…stretch and savor every minute so when it comes time to leave my little slice of orange county, it might look something like this: The room was bare except for a pair of suitcases and a few cardboard boxes sitting in the corner. Christine scanned the area in search of any items accidentally left behind, then her eyes rested upon the window. She stood there admiring the view – the sky was a bright crisp blue, and the grass was so green you could smell its color. It was the best view in all of Mesa. Christine smiled thinking about the countless hours she had spent in front of this window…watching as people passed in and out of her life each day. A part of her wished she could pack her window into a box and take it with her. She closed her eyes and thought about the past year here with all its blessings, failures, successes, mistakes, confusion, improvements, obstacles, excitement, heartache, joy, friendships, laughter, tears, glory, freedom, responsibilities, surprises, and a million other things indescribable in words. She opened her eyes and saw her reflection in the glass, and for the first time, she saw how much she had grown as a person. With one last glance around the room, Christine gathered her belongings--tangible and intangible--and quietly shut the door. #
