Monday, September 06, 2004 ( 1:55 PM ) shut up christine So I come back and Britney Spears is getting married...again, Kate Hudson has a hideous baby (says Tessa), Ozma is no more, Toyo Kimura is still my favorite, Nanet is in Europe (punk! you always copy me!!), buff crazy pierced man at Tigerheat kicked me in the pootie then picked me up while we were dancing and flipped me in the air!! And I slid down his back like a slip & slide fun times, my goldfish died rest in peace Fishstick, and our freakin hamster peed all over the freakin wall howw is that possible?? I HAAAAATE this hamster...hate him Anyhoot... started training in Mesa last week. My position is pretty new so its kind of hard to explain, and no one really knows what it is but basically I have to do research on any topic I want, and since my focus is community development I'm "researching" fun things to do in Southern California...so pretty much I get to go out and hunt for cool restaurants, shops, clubs, concert venues, hangouts, whatever...and then write articles about them and plan a few programs/events in between. And they're paying me to do this!!! Hot damn this year is going to rock And people have been asking me "how was Europe what did you do what was it like did you like it?" Usually I say something generic and stupid like "Yeahhh! It was soooo cool!" My mind draws a blank, I never know what to say until 15 minutes after but by then we've parted ways or moved on to another subject and I wish I could run back to you and I wish you would ask me those questions again so I could tell you that over there the alcohol is cheaper than soda, eggs aren't refrigerated in the grocery stores, sometimes eating dinner takes 3 hours or longer, my faith in humanity has been completely restored, I love paella, there's no singing allowed in the Prado, I'm hooked on foreign films so I'm starting a club...we're going to rent one at least once a month and you should come over, try putting bananas in your sangria, they have ham and cheese flavored everything...even lollipops, some of the best most beautiful music I ever heard was on a street corner in Barcelona, pear gelato is my favorite, make sure your backpack fits you before you go backpacking, the Eiffel Tower sparkles at night, it's possible to have an entire conversation with someone who doesn't speak your language, don't wear a sleeveless shirt to the Vatican because they won't let you in, and now I'm gonna stop because Amy Tsai is sick and tired of reading posts about Europe. But when you asked, this is what I meant to say. Next stop, Bangkok for winter break, who wants to come? We have 13 weeks to save up for it but I'm booking plane tickets in 4 weeks so let me know if you're interested. :) Peace out #
