( 3:54 AM ) shut up christine
Today Nels and I went to a nice little cafe where the menu had no prices, and at the end of your meal, instead of a bill they ask you to give from your heart whatever amount you wish, and those donations are used to pay for future guests' meals. Then right before we left, a server gave both me and Nels a five dollar bill, under the condition that we spend the money on someone else.
So #1, the food in front of you is a gift from a complete stranger, #2 they don't charge you, #3 they give you money as you're leaving. Such a beautiful concept of giving, no?
Speaking of beautiful...recently I met someone really cool, someone who asks me--forces me to be bigger than I am, does that make sense? It's an overwhelmingly scary thought, but at the same time I feel like doing cartwheels
EDIT: It's called The Seva Cafe in Long Beach, it's open every Saturday from 5pm-10pm. Definitely worth visiting!
