Wednesday, July 09, 2008 ( 7:01 PM ) shut up christine encouraging words it is difficult to stay motivated, but I think the end result will be very self benefiting and an awesome sense of an accomplishment... we've got a very positive and supportive group, and my only motivation is not to let the team or myself down... good thing is, we've got plenty of time before the marathon, so the ups and downs with our training isn't too bad... it takes a while to get into it, but once we start noticing results, I think it'll help us push that much further... Stay positive, stay focused... you will do this, we all will do this together Akash It is great you are still doing the elliptical. That counts as training. You still have a long time to kick in your training. You need to start getting serious about November...I know you can do it! I am nuts....the fall is a crazy time...Sept - Olympic Distance Triathlon, October Marathon bike & then 1/2 marathon run in LB, next weekend 1/2 marathon in SF, in Nov. San Antonio Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon. I am looking forward to each event as a learning experience....I try to remember....The Journey Is The Goal. A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes.' They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said, 'Yes,' too. For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometers) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island. Father and son went on to complete the race together.
