Tuesday, November 04, 2008 ( 11:59 AM ) shut up christine a friend wrote this to me. i'm not judging them and i hope you won't either. we are all entitled to our own. you are completely free to disagree with me, and i appreciate your perspective. being open & listening to other ideas can only broaden my own understanding. Dear Christine, I do not want to sound harsh. But because I care for you and because I am commanded to tell the truth according to the Scripture in love, I will therefore go ahead and say, clearly you are being “blinded” by “sin” and Satan. The God you worship is not from the Bible. Yes you are right that God is love, but God is also a wrathful and angry God to those who pervert His justice (Romans 1; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Matthew 7; Romans 3:10-18; Deuteronomy 12:31; Ezekiel 18:4, 20; Isaiah 1:4-6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Proverbs 28:13). Clearly this is what you are doing now, perverting His justice by condoning sin to reign in this world. Many of the ideas you have about God are taken out of context and must be repented of soon. If you want truth, start with Scripture, not yourself. This is what is called inductive reasoning that will lead you no where. Many of philosophers who performed deductive reasoning failed in their explanation against the Bible. Start with the Bible. That is deductive reasoning. Starting with yourself as the origin of truth is blasphemous and will get you no where. I guarantee it. It is as if you are chasing after the wind. I urge you Christine to repent from your sinfulness and place your trust in Jesus Christ. God must be preeminent above all things; that includes the government and your unbiblical ideas about God. The fact that you are still breathing right now is a testament of God’s providential mercy towards you. Dear Christine, I urge you once more to please ask God to open your eyes to the truth. I do not want you to go to hell. Please feel free to talk to me. I would love to talk to you about the true God of the Holy Bible. It would be my pleasure to talk to you more about what the Bible says how one should live. Take care my friend. Turn to God and flee from the Wrath to come (John 3) because all the good works you do is meaningless to God if you do not have a clear understanding of how God works (Isaiah 64:6). p.s. I stand by it. I am voting no on prop 8. I believe marriage is a fundamental right, regardless of how you feel about religion. YOU do not have to accept same sex marriage, YOUR place of worship doesn't have to recognize it. That is the beauty of this country; YOU can believe whatever you want. But the Government cannot eliminate this right. The Government cannot take that choice from someone else. there must be a separation between church and state #

I learned early on when I was in 3rd grade and my classmate said, "If you don't go to church you're going to hell!" that some people believe there is only one way to follow the Bible/God. I don't pretend to know much, as I am not a religious person, but it just doesn't seem right. I really wish ALL people would realize that voting NO ON 8 has nothing to do with religion...it has EVERYTHING to do with not taking away basic HUMAN rights from certain people. :0)
P.S. I totally forgot you had a blog until I saw you post the link on Facebook. Please visit mine! :0) P.S.S. Sorry if I can't form a coherant thought right now. I'm going crazy sitting here at work watching the returns come in!
I don't judge the person, but it kills me to read what they wrote. First of all, you are an angel and your love, compassion is very awesome!! I believe everyone should have their own beliefs and not try to convince others...but I do feel like telling others to vote NO ON 8! Myself and my friends, family do not believe in discrimination...equality is the way! U go, girl!!! Keep truckin' with your no on 8 self! yaaaay!
I totally agree with your Christine! We have our own belief and ethos and should not tell others how to feel morally nor otherwise. Take care and keep it up. I will bring the crew to Seva soon, I promise....I want you to succeed at this endeavor.
What I dont get about this country is this - why do they care if I marry a guy, a girl, a stone or whatever else I choose? Who are they to decide whom I should marry and who I shouldnt?
