this question was posed in my philosophy class today:
Should a same sex partnership legally qualify as a marriage?
we get a few minutes to choose a side and plan our arguments, then the professor asks
who says YES?
i am the only person in the entire room to raise my hand. awesome.
so i state my premises and i let the wolves come
some arguments against me are simply stated "hell to the no" (compton)
but for every legit rebuttal, 10 responses form in my mind
it was freakin beautiful, like dancing
long story short
its great that we disagree (even though you are wrong. just kiiiddding)
regardless of the side you are standing on, if you can back up your argument respectfully and intelligently (read: minus the nonsensical crazy talk and hell to the no's)
then, my friend, i have all the respect in the world for you
