      ( 4:16 PM ) shut up christine
i've been having a hard time sitting through my philosophy of religion class
his grading is so subjective (based on how much he likes you) and after a few incidents at the beginning of the semester i decided the best way to get through this was to keep my mouth shut

but

today the professor made a comment so i smiled.  raised my hand. and very calmly and confidently went off
"WHO are YOU to say....."
for those of you who know me, i'm timid, soft spoken and i sound like a freakin 6 year old
but as i was speaking, in the background i could hear my classmates saying ohhhh shit!!!
i surprised myself with the strength of the words that were coming out of my mouth

he apologized at the end of class.

today's lesson:
even if you are afraid of failing,
especially if you are afraid of failing
speak your mind

if i fail this class, so be it
i have never felt more powerful than i do today

Bravo, lady! :D

You are much stronger than you know. I cite as evidence that he apologized to you...if the man is like you say he is, it wasn't out of kindness; it was out of ass-saving and fear. No question; the only other possibility I can think of is total shock but your end-of-class apology insists that he thought about your words and had to cover his ass with you. He knows you are onto his act.

I don't say it as a put-down to him (though I don't like people who pull that shit) but as a celebration for you. Sometimes moments come up that need to be dealt with despite the fear. When they're important enough (in my life anyway) the fear has always stepped aside.

Be proud of yourself and never regret it for a second. And if the guy fails you for being honest, wear his judgment as a huge badge of honor.

When your classmates are thinking ohhhh shit! you are definitely on the right track, not because you're wrong (not at all) but because you're saying what they want to.

Again: BRAVO! I salute you! :)

Hell Yeah, Thats what Im talking about.

thanks guys. thank you M, that means a lot coming from a guy like you
