the bad news is that i tested positive for antibodies associated with lupus.
the good news is it's highly unlikely that i actually have lupus (phew!!)
more tests pending
i am not worried.
however, what alarmed me is when i told my sister about it
she works in insurance and she mentioned that a client of hers had lupus, and, as a result, was uninsurable.
i learned today thru my friend melisa
that thanks to the federal healthcare reforms, there are programs that provide coverage to individuals who've been denied health coverage or offered only unaffordable options
in california, those programs are PCIP -Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (federal) and MRMIP - Major Risk Medical Insurance Program (state).
