i'll begin this post by first admitting that i was ABOUT to say
Villa Park Councilwoman Deborah Pauly is a big ol' bigoty bitch for real, that's what i was thinking. but i don't always say what i'm thinking, because i, too, can be a nasty bitch. usually i manage to exercise enough self-restraint before too much evil filth erupts out of my mouth into the cosmos.
after some thought,
i craft a facebook (yes, facebook) message to her - respectfully voicing my opinion.
i start out by writing "you will probably delete this message..."
she responds immediately. i figure its an automated response, so i write back..
respond, send. respond, send.
holy, we are conversing.
we didn't get into it too deep
but a dialogue began
and hopefully it will continue. it needs to continue, not just between the two of us, but among our community.
i will probably seek her out at upcoming events so we can talk listen, face to face.
Life isn't virtual.
kermit suggested that we do something nice and love-filled in the OC (and perhaps for ms. pauly) in light of these events.
THIS is the caliber of the people i roll with. my friends continually strive to do nice things for people they disagree with.
