there are
real consequences that we (read: YOU) will have to deal with in this lifetime
whether you want to acknowledge it or not, your life will be affected (as small as a rise in the cost of your Starbucks coffee or as big as severe coastal flooding in New York City)
but then again, lots of people don't believe in evolution either
