i told makoto that if our apartment ever catches fire, i will grab 2 things: Pickles, and this 8 foot fiddle leaf fig tree
as with all ficus, fiddle leaf figs are temperamental and can be difficult to maintain
i water mine every weekend with filtered water that has been sitting for one week (to allow chlorine to evaporate), dust leaves regularly for maximum sun absorption/oxygen exchange, and occasionally mist it to increase humidity
they also require plenty of bright indirect light
makoto doesn't like neighbors looking into our windows (weird because we live on the 2nd floor) so he's always trying to shut the blinds.

now our blinds are open even in 100 degree weather, and if i'm home i will adjust the blinds every few hours to follow the sun
